Meet James


James Nellis II, CRS is a third-generation Realtor who grew up in Northern Virginia. As a result, James grew up understanding that real estate is a service industry, and the client's needs must come first. He brings fresh insight into how leveraging technology can enhance relationships and business. People are his passion, and James enjoys creating opportunities for investment and developing a client's wealth portfolio with real estate.


James graduated from Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tennessee, where he double majored in Psychology and Religion. James is a natural at negotiating and client service, which he attributes to mentoring in the family business and his educational background in psychology.


Over the years, James has accrued national and regional Awards related to serving clients: Top 100 Re/Max USA, Top 100 Keller Williams USA, National Association of Realtors 30 under 30, Harvard Negotiation Certification, Carson-Newman College Young Alumnus & CyberStar of the Year. The Nellis Group has been recognized as one of Washingtonian Magazine’s top real estate teams, 2015-2024.


James grew up playing tennis and still plays singles and doubles and is an avid volleyball player playing in two leagues. Outside of sports, travel is also a passion of his. James loves seeing the country and the world and is always looking for his next adventure.

RRC, RRC States, and licensees reserve the right to cancel any scheduled course. If a course is cancelled, registrants will be notified via email or phone and will be given a full refund. RRC, RRC States, and licensees are not responsible for any expenses incurred by the registrant due to cancellation. Class cancellations by a participant will be accepted until one week prior to the event. Cancellations will be refunded minus a $25 administrative fee. No shows will be charged the full registration amount.
