As a member of the Council, you have access to great benefits, premiere education, and more. While you can be an RRC member, you cannot use the CRS Designation trademark until you have earned and been awarded the designation.

You may become a member and apply for your designation simultaneously. If you apply for both (and all documentation is complete and meets requirements), you will receive notice within 10 business days that you have been awarded the CRS Designation. If the documentation is incomplete, we will let you know what is needed to complete the application process.

A CRS Designee is someone who has officially earned the designation, and is able to use the CRS Designation trademark on their business materials.

No, you can join at any time in your career! Many agents decide to join RRC while they’re working toward their CRS Designation, since membership provides access to discounted registration fees to education and access to select members-only benefits.
The best ways to get involved with your State group are simply by reaching out to state leadership and asking how to get involved, or by attending local events. Check your state page for more information.

Certifications

Yes! You are able to count qualifying courses (eLearning or classroom courses) completed through the certification tracks towards earning the CRS Designation. However, webinars and recordings do not count towards earning your CRS.
Congratulations! When you earn a certification (meaning all requirements are satisfied), you will receive a congratulatory email with details about logo usage and more. You can also then access these materials from My Dashboard. Therein, click on Certification Status and Progress to see more.
Courses are added throughout the year on a rolling basis. We try to offer a variety of topics and sessions around the country. You can also suggest a course through your local AOR and encourage them to host RRC Education near you!

We do offer Virtual Pro courses that can be taken in place of in-person courses. For a list of upcoming Virtual Pro topics, search for the name of the classroom course needed in our Education Catalog, and look at the upcoming dates or sessions. Virtual Pro courses are noted in this list of upcoming events.

Earning the CRS Designation

Under our Path to Designation, we recommend you join the Council and reap the benefits of our substantial membership discounts on education and events, which will likely pay for the price of membership as you earn your designation. However, you are not required to join before applying to be a designee.

To be a CRS Designee, you must be an active, dues paying member of the Council. Once you’ve completed the requirements (course work and years in the business or sales volume), you can submit your designation application and documentation to CRSHelp@crs.com.

Applications are typically processed in 5-7 business days, and there is a one-time designation application fee of $99 that can be paid online or by calling us at 800.462.8841.
In order to maintain your CRS Designation, you must keep your membership active with the Council. There is an annual membership fee that allows you to have access to many membership benefits.
If you are applying under the 60/30/30 Program, you need a total of 30 RRC Education Credits.

If you are applying under the Pro Program, you need 16 RRC Education Credits.

These credits must come from live classroom courses or eLearning courses. The key here is that the education is tested and graded.

Webinars, recordings, and other electives do not count for designation credit.

I work with a partner. How do we count our transactions?

You receive ½ credit for every transaction you complete with a partner. For example, if you and your partner sold a property, you would each receive credit for half the transaction. However, if you and your partner both listed and sold the property, you would both receive one full credit.

I both listed and sold a property. How does that count?

Each side of the sale counts as one transaction. In this case, you’d be able to count this as “2”.

I sell land, Can I use those transactions towards the sales volume requirement?

No. Credit is given for only the following transactions: single-family home, townhouse, cooperative, up to and including four-unit building, duplex, condominium or permanently affixed mobile home unit. The property must include an improvement.

I’m the principal broker. Who certifies my transactions on the application for the Affidavit of Required Transactions?

If you are the principal broker, you would simply sign the Affidavit in both places.

Can I submit a computer printout of my transactions instead of filling out the affidavit?

Yes, however, you must sign and date the official resume of transactions form and include the statement "See Attached."

Have other specific questions? Email us at CRSHelp@crs.com.
Yes, all applicable RRC courses will be credited toward the designation regardless of whether a person was an active member of the Council at the time when the course was completed.
You must be an active CRS Designee to advertise yourself as a CRS.
