The Council offers both local and national volunteer opportunities to members (listed below).

Volunteers are an important part of the Council. We have numerous opportunities for you to get involved, learn, and expand your network.

National Committees And Mastermind Positions

Applications for Committees and Mastermind Divisions open yearly in August.

Purpose: The Awards Committee is responsible for reviewing applications and making recommendations to the Board of Directors for the Council’s annual awards.
Members: The group consists of a Chair and six (6) at-large members.
Travel: None
Time Commitment: At-large members serve 1-year terms via an online forum; conference call

Purpose: The Code of Conduct Committee is responsible for interpreting, administering, and enforcing the Volunteer Code of Conduct of the Residential Real Estate Council.
Members: The group consists of the Immediate Past President, the CEO and four (4) at-large members.

Purpose: The Finance Committee develops financial policies for the Council, monitors adherence to those policies, and establishes decision-making and policy development criteria for recommendations have budgetary impacts.
Members: The Finance Committee consists of the President, President Elect, First Vice President, Immediate Past President and five at-large members.

Purpose: The Leadership Development Committee is responsible for recommending nominations for President, President Elect and First Vice President of the Council and Board of Directors. Additionally, this committee approves the recommendations for Regional Vice Presidents and Leadership Development Committee before going to the Board of Directors for final approval.
Members: The group consists of the First Vice President, Immediate Past President as Chair and seven at-large members.

Purpose: Conducts interviews for Regional Vice President positions and makes recommendations to the Leadership Development Committee.
Members: A Chair, Vice Chair, three at-large members and two Past Regional Vice Presidents.
Travel: None
Time Commitment: 15 Hours

Purpose: RRC representatives on NAR committees are expected to raise awareness of the Council among the committee members and promote and advance interest of the Council, and further strengthen the relationship with NAR.

Best practices for RRC representatives include:
  • Focus on things that make a difference to the Council.
  • Listen to topics that may affect the Council and take notes
  • Be a brand ambassador and position the Council in a positive light.
  • Verify and share information that has been approved for general dissemination.
  • Clarify the scope of work and identify the level of assistance needed before committing resources to a project.
  • Be a voice for RRC, but seek approval from Council Leadership before speaking on behalf of the Council

    Executive Committee – 2-year term
    Federal Financing & Housing Policy Committee - 1-year term
    Global Business and Alliances Committee – 1-year term
    Professional Development Committee – 1-year term
    Professional Standards Committee – 1-year term
    Public Policy Coordinating Committee – 2-year term

    Note: For the committee below, one member will be chosen to represent ALL affiliates (not each affiliate).
    RPAC Trustee Fundraising Committee – 1-year term

    Time Commitment: Reporting: Each representative is required to fill out an electronic report after attending their NAR committee meeting so that RRC can share this information with its members promptly. If there are not time conflicts, each representative will be expected to provide a brief 2-3-minute oral report during RRC Member Update.

    Education Mastermind Division
    Purpose: To provide an opportunity for members, instructors, and course sponsors to exchange ideas, information, best practices, and education that help residential specialists enhance their practice, achieve greater success, and elevate the profession. The group will focus on the 4 professional domains-Working with Sellers, Working with Buyers, Business Development, and Professional Development.
    Members: Co-leaders, Instructors, Candidate Instructors and at-large members.

    Outreach Marketing Mastermind Division
    Purpose: To provide a supportive community for RRC members and volunteer leaders to discuss outreach opportunities and coordinate activities which seek to: 1. Increase awareness and understanding of the CRS designation among buyers and sellers 2. Increase awareness and understanding of the CRS designation within the real estate industry 3. Increase awareness and understanding of the CRS designation globally Through discussions and presentations members will share best practices, develop strategies, and execute plans to achieve their goals and improve their businesses

    Regional Mastermind Division
    Purpose: To provide a supportive community for each state leadership team and their volunteers to coordinate local activities which seek to: 1. Building RRC Membership Growth, Engagement and Satisfaction 2. Providing RRC Learning Opportunities 3. Promoting RRC Designation Awareness and Use 4. Building RRC Networking and Referral Benefits Through discussions and presentations members will share best practices, develop strategies, and execute plans which will achieve their goals and improve their operations.

    State Leadership Positions

    Purpose: The Communications Leader serves as the "go-to" person for the state website and social media. They ensure these platforms are updated with fresh and accurate content. 
     
    Time Commitment: 10 to 15 hours per month
     
    Term: 1 year

    Purpose: The Education Leader serves as the point person for education and event questions. They organize and implement a broad range of programming including Network Group activities, RRC Courses, lunch and learns, etc.
     
    Time Commitment: 10 to 15 hours per month
     
    Term: 1 year

    Purpose: The Finance Leader reviews and approves state financial transactions including deposits, payments, reimbursements and develops the State's annual operating budget in conjunction with the State Leadership Team.
     
    Time Commitment: 2 to 4 hours per month
     
    Term: 1 year

    Purpose: The Membership Leader is responsible for building member engagement within the State.  They work with Network Groups on recruitment activities and be the point person for questions about RRC membership. 
     
    Time Commitment: 10 to 15 hours per month

    Purpose: The Network Director serves as the point of contact for the State Leadership Team in a local market. They work with other members to organize networking events or educational offerings. 
     
    Time Commitment: 10 to 15 hours per quarter
     
    Term: 1 year

    Purpose: The President provides leadership and direction to volunteers while steering the State to meet members needs. Act as a representative on behalf of the State RRC at Realtor programs and events. 
     
    Time Commitment: 10 to 20 hours per month
     
    Term: 1 year

    Board of Directors

    Applications open yearly in November. The process includes submitting a professional resume, signed Affidavit verifying the level of transactions over the past three years, phone interview, reference screening and background check. Click here for the responsibility of the Board and eligibility requirements.

    For 2025 we will be looking for the following positions:
     
    2025 Board of Directors
    • two 2-year term positions
    2025 First Vice President
    • one 1-year term position
     
    Eligible applicants may be asked to interview before the Leadership Development Committee. Candidates chosen for the ballot will be provided campaign guidelines with a full membership vote in May.

    Regional Vice Presidents Committee

    The Regional Vice Presidents Committee is responsible for coordinating the work of all RVPs by sahring ideas and best practices on providing assistance to individual states or regions.

    Applications will be available May 2024
     
    For 2025 we will be looking for the following positions:
    • ten 1-year term positions
     
    Eligible members are invited to apply for a position. Current eligible RVP's/RVP Alternates interested in applying for another term are required to go through the same process.

    RRC Representatives on NAR Committees

    Committees help shape the direction of the National Association of REALTORS (NAR) and its policies. Committees discuss ideas and bring forward recommendations to the NAR Board of Directors for their vote.
