General Information

Online Limitations:

Kentucky Real Estate Commission requires a final exam for CE courses and will allow for only TWO attempts on the final exam before requiring the course be retaken. The final exam passing requirement is 75%.

The Kentucky Real Estate Commission also requires an electronic signature (in lieu of the required affidavit) upon the start and completion of all courses (except non-credit courses). McKissock satisfies this requirement with questions and answers that the licensee submits.

Online Info:

All actively licensed agents shall be required to attend six (6) hours of continuing education courses sponsored or approved by the Commission. Of the six (6) hours, three (3) hours shall be in courses on real estate law. A licensee shall complete this mandatory continuing education requirement by December 31st of each calendar year. Licensees are not required to attend the continuing education courses during the first two calendar years of initial license issuance in Kentucky. Please refer to 201 KAR 11:230 for more information.

Important Note:
Kentucky does require a state specific continuing education course - the Kentucky Core Course - to be completed by all active licensees subject to continuing education once every four years.  No other continuing education course will substitute for the Kentucky Core Course.

Important Note:

Renewal Information

The annual license renewal period is February 17-March 31, 2020. Starting in 2020, the license renewal is a biennial renewal. Licenses renewed in 2020 will not be subject to renewal again until 2022. In most cases, the E&O insurance policy needs to be renewed ANNUALLY despite our biennial renewal. Licensees with firm provided insurance must verify their policy has been renewed by their principal broker prior to their renewal. Non-firm E&O policy holders must renew insurance prior to renewal. Continuing Education delinquency fines are due prior to renewal or subsequent fees will incur.
