Meet Jack

The allure of tree houses sparked a lifelong passion for one REALTOR®. Growing up in Cape Cod, John (Jack) Cotton Jr. spent hours constructing forts from scrap lumber and treasuring the security of having a space to call his own. Today, as a REALTOR® with Sotheby’s International Realty in Osterville, Cotton helps clients achieve what he calls the “tree house feeling.” He specializes in waterfront estates and village properties on Mid-Cape Cod.

Jack began his real estate career in 1974, launching his real estate business from his dorm room with handmade signs and a $600 insurance payment. Over 51 years, he has built a reputation for integrity, discretion, and a process-driven approach, focusing on his clients’ best interests. His experience in Mid-Cape luxury real estate — particularly in Osterville, Wianno, and Cotuit — has made him a trusted advisor.

Cotton’s career includes notable achievements. As an Amazon bestselling author and a certified instructor with the Residential Real Estate Council, Cotton is dedicated to sharing his knowledge.

His impact extends beyond selling estates. Cotton’s donation to Cape Cod Community College led to the creation of the Cotton Center for Real Estate Studies, which fosters the growth of future industry professionals.

A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Cotton enjoys cycling and exploring Nantucket Sound as a U.S. Coast Guard-licensed captain. His appreciation for Cape Cod’s natural beauty fuels his dedication to helping clients find their perfect homes, all while delivering that all-important “tree house feeling.”

RRC, RRC States, and licensees reserve the right to cancel any scheduled course. If a course is cancelled, registrants will be notified via email or phone and will be given a full refund. RRC, RRC States, and licensees are not responsible for any expenses incurred by the registrant due to cancellation. Class cancellations by a participant will be accepted until one week prior to the event. Cancellations will be refunded minus a $25 administrative fee. No shows will be charged the full registration amount.
